The house we stayed at in Portland
After a little traffic, rain, and thunder/lightning we eventually made it to Portland. We stayed with fellow CT friends Raquel and Quiet Life at an adorable house. That night, the weather was the nicest it had been on the whole trip! It was the perfect night for the lovely outdoor bar with lanterns, beers, and delicious desserts. The next morning we met up with Johnny, another CT local, and all went out for breakfast. It rained a bit, but lightened up by the time we went down town and visited the Craft Museum. After, we stopped at the Saturday Market and the the incredibly overwhelming Powells book store. I wanted to buy lots of books, but held back. At Powells I met up with Georgia, yet another CT friend. Then the whole brigade of Connecticut folk went vintage shopping up on Hawthorn. After an exhausting day, we stayed the night at Oregon State University with Johnny. Highlights of the evening included an highlighter party, and picking ripe figs off a tree and eating them on the walk back to campus.-Karli
